Sandwich mount now comes with all trunk bags as well as the straps
Sandwich mount is needed from some bikes such as DWG, Deluxe, VTX
The above photo shows a sandwich mount. The sandwich mount bolts through the bag and luggage rack to a plastic plate below luggage rack. Use the button head bolts with a fender washer on the inside of the bag and then through bottom plate also using a fender washer on the bottom with the supplied lock nut. This photo is a rack from a Road King, most racks are smaller. The sandwich mount is recommended on DWG, Deluxe and VTX as well as for any other application where you want a very secure mount. With the sandwich mount you will not need to use the bottom strap for luggage rack.
Instructions to sandwich mount
Place bag on rack and center. If using a backrest, make sure backrest is in place to get the forward position correct. You will want it tight against the backrest. Trace the rack on the bottom of the bag. Drill 1/4” hole through bottom of the bag. Make sure to hold the leather tight right next to the drill bit to keep leather from coming up and allow the waste of the inner plastic to deposit between the leather and the inner plastic. Some racks will only have room to put 2 bolts on such as the Deluxe. Try to get your bolts right next to one of the bars on the luggage rack. Once bag is bolted on you may want to cut the straps off.
This sandwich mount includes 4 button head bolts, 8 fender washers and 4 locknuts and the bottom plastic. Plastic will need to be cut to fit.
