A. Powder coated 16 gauge metal stiffener spans the back of the saddle bag, providing an excellent base for the quick disconnect couplers and perfect alignment.

B. Special "BOSS BAGS" patented coupling system. These high quality "push to connect" couplers were designed by, and made exclusively for BOSS BAGS. All parts of this modified hydraulic coupler are made of solid brass or stainless steel. Each bag has two of these nickel plated gems.

C. The back of BOSS BAGS is made of a 1/4" neopreme rubber. This water and oil proof back naturally gives a shock resistant mounting surface. This same rugged material is also commonly used for shoe soles.

D. Two rivets securely hold our unique stainless steel D-ring on the front  and rear of our bag. These D-rings can be used to snap on the shoulder strap or provide an excellent spot to attach a bungie cord if you are packing  for a big Sturgis trip.

E. Two layer reinforced side gusset. The outside layer is a heavy 10 oz. vegetable tanned leather. The inside layer is the reason this bag will  never loose its shape. This 1/8" space age polimer is VERY RIGID, and runs the entire length of the saddle bag. After the leather is sewn this piece is driven in place while the leather is soaking wet, stretching
the leather to form around this stiffener.

F. Two rows of heavy nylon stitching insures the front of these bags will  stay in place.

G. Two inside expandable pockets are a great place to keep small items you want to find quickly.

H. Heavy front high-density polyethelyne stiffener keeps the front of the bag straight, and is hidden behind a layer of rolled glove leather, which gives a finished custom look.

I. Only BOSS BAGS has a 2 leather layer lid valance. Combining the unique taylored bias cut lid design with 2 layers of heavy 10 oz. leather keeps them down and next to the bag, where they should be.

J. Only BOSS BAGS incorporates a neatly hidden front panel reinforcing tab that is riveted through the side insuring the front panel will not  loosen at this stress point.

K. Another BOSS BAG exclusive is a THREE layer lid top. The top is our heavy 10 oz. leather - then a layer of 1/8" rigid PVC - and then lined  with our soft glove leather. The combination of our 3 layer lid and 2  layer valance yields a very clean finished look on the inside of the lid, and  insures the lid to maintain its shape and not sag.

L. BOSS BAGS uses a 2 layer leather hinge on our lids. BOSS BAGS lids are attached with 5 chrome plated brass chicago screws. Many other  manufacturers sew their lids on. Stitching across a leather hinge  perforates  this stress area. If the leather dries out that area becomes prone to  tear. Our design eliminates this problem!

M. This cross section shows how the stiffener piece is trapped in place at the front of the bag between the double stitched leather.

N. This extra stiffener keeps the gusset stiffener (E) down at the back of the bag.
